The Divine Call
Every move of God begins with His voice. Long before a ministry is seen by men, it is first conceived in the heart of God. Christ The King Rescue Global Ministry is the unfolding of such a divine purpose, a testimony of God’s sovereign calling, His unfailing faithfulness, and His unwavering commitment to bringing freedom to humanity through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The story of Christ The King Rescue Global Ministry did not begin with the construction of a church building or the inauguration of a congregation. It began years earlier when God, in His infinite wisdom, began preparing His servant, Prophet Gabriel Olusola Onaolapo, for a lifelong assignment that would impact generations.
In 1981, God began revealing His purpose through prophetic encounters. One of the earliest revelations came when an angel of the Lord appeared to Prophet Gabriel Onaolapo in a vision and gave him the Scriptures from Isaiah 5:1–10. Although the full meaning of the revelation was not immediately understood, it became evident over time that God was unveiling a prophetic burden for Nigeria and a global assignment to proclaim His truth.
Over the years, the Lord continued to prepare His servant through dreams, visions, and divine confirmations. These were not isolated experiences but progressive revelations, each unveiling another dimension of the divine assignment God had ordained long before the ministry was established.
1982–1990
The Revelation
In 1982, while still a teenager, Prophet Gabriel received a profound vision that would later become the prophetic foundation of the ministry.
In the vision, he found himself being pursued by a fierce and terrifying figure. As he fled, he came upon a well lit, fenced camp where he found safety. While resting inside, he heard the voice of God instructing him to open the gate. Looking back, he saw multitudes of people being chased by the same terrifying figure. In obedience to God’s command, he opened the gate, and the people ran into the camp, where they found safety and deliverance.
The Lord then revealed that the pursuer represented Satan and that a time would come when He would establish, through His servant, a place of rescue and refuge where all who came would find freedom from the power of the enemy. Although the full significance of the vision was not understood at the time, it later became clear that God was revealing the prophetic mandate upon which Christ The King Rescue Global Ministry would be established, a commission called to proclaim freedom through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Throughout the 1980s, the Lord continued to confirm His calling through remarkable encounters. Different servants of God, at different times and in different places, affirmed the divine assignment upon Prophet Gabriel’s life. Dreams, prophetic words, and spiritual experiences consistently pointed to the same truth: God had chosen him for the work of the Gospel.
Among these confirmations was a remarkable courtroom vision in which he stood before the Ancient of Days while Satan declared that he would stop pursuing him only when he became “a salesman for Jesus Christ.” In another encounter, the Lord gave him a clear and unmistakable command: “Go and do My work.”
By July 1990, after years of divine preparation and repeated confirmation, Prophet Gabriel Olusola Onaolapo fully yielded to the call of God and entered full time ministry.
2001–2004
The Birth of the Commission
In March 2001, the vision entered a new phase as the ministry was established as Christ Apostolic Church, Rescue Camp. The first worship service was held on March 10, 2001, followed by the formal inauguration of the church on March 24, 2001.
The beginnings were humble. Worship services were held under a simple canopy, with broken concrete blocks serving as chairs and a modest platform as the first pulpit. The residence at No. 33, Adeniyi Bankole Street, Irewole, Oke Aro, became home not only to the Prophet’s family but also to members who shared the burden of establishing the work. Though the house was unfinished, without doors, windows, a fence, or basic conveniences, it became the birthplace of a ministry built on faith, sacrifice, perseverance, and unwavering obedience to God’s call.
Every challenge became another testimony of God’s faithfulness, strengthening the conviction that this was His divine work.
As the ministry grew, God made it clear that the assignment extended far beyond the establishment of another local assembly. The ministry first became known as Rescue Global Ministries, reflecting the expanding vision He had entrusted to the commission. However, during the registration process, it was discovered that the name had already been registered by another organization.
Rather than becoming discouraged, the leadership sought God’s direction. In His faithfulness, the Lord revealed a name that more fully expressed the identity, ownership, and global assignment of the commission: Christ The King Rescue Global Ministry.
This name proclaims an eternal truth that Christ Himself is the Owner, Lord, and King of this commission, and that every work accomplished through it exists for His glory alone.
2009–Present
A New Name, A Greater Mandate
The years that followed were marked by both trials and testimonies. The ministry encountered opposition, financial limitations, administrative challenges, and spiritual battles. Yet, through every season, God proved Himself faithful.
From a modest gathering under a simple canopy, the Lord has established a growing commission characterized by sound biblical teaching, fervent prayer, passionate worship, prophetic ministry, evangelism, leadership development, and compassionate outreach. Lives have been transformed, families restored, captives set free, believers equipped, and leaders raised. The vision of rescue has become a living reality.
Today, Christ The King Rescue Global Ministry continues to expand its impact through church planting, biblical training, media ministry, revival gatherings, missions, and discipleship, faithfully proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ across communities and nations.
More than two decades after its beginning, the commission remains steadfast in the assignment first revealed by God. The mission has never changed: to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, rescue people from every form of bondage, equip believers for effective Kingdom service, and prepare hearts for the glorious return of Christ.
Every service, every outreach, every prayer, every sermon, and every ministry expression points to one unchanging purpose: to reveal Jesus Christ and make His freedom known to the world.
As we celebrate God’s faithfulness through the years, we do so with gratitude and humility, knowing that the journey is far from over. The vision continues. The mandate remains. The mission advances.
Freedom, Our Prophetic Mandate.
